Sun Protection, Skincare Benefits

Fact: There's no point using active skincare like exfoliants and serums if you're not protecting your skin by wearing SPF every day?

That's why we made Dawn to Dusk SPF 50+ Serum, a sunscreen made for skincare lovers that:

  • Is lightweight, fast-absorbing serum sunscreen with a sheer, glowy finish
  • Contains broad-spectrum UVA/UVB filters to protect the skin from the sun’s damaging rays and environmentally induced, extrinsic ageing
  • Leaves skin looking dewy and luminous under makeup
  • Layers well with other products (i.e. no pilling!)
  • Is packed with skincare ingredients including skin barrier-saviour Niacinamide, antioxidant-rich Vitamin E and soothing Aloe Vera

SPF 101: Why It Matters

Aside from the very real skin cancer risks, did you know around 80% of all signs of ageing can be attributed to unprotected UV exposure?

Sunscreens work by absorbing and scattering harmful emissions from the sun, including:

- UVA light (the rays that 'age' the skin)

- UVB light (the rays that 'burn' the skin)

Wearing a broad-spectrum, high-protection SPF daily (and reapplying every 2 hours!) helps to protect against sunburn, skin cancers, premature skin ageing like fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation.

Pro tips
  • Apply sunscreen in layers or by sectioning the face into different quadrants (forehead, cheeks, nose etc.) to make sure you're using enough SPF
  • Reapply over makeup using a beauty blender by gently patting product into the skin
  • Never mix serums, moisturisers or makeup products like highlighter or bronzer with your sunscreen, as this will dilute the SPF protection
  • Allow sunscreen to fully dry down before applying makeup to avoid pilling
  • Apply SPF to the backs of hands before driving to prevent UV damage
  • Don't forget, SPF is just one part of sun protection! Wear a hat, sunnies and protective clothing, and seek shade where possible
